Old Bay Seasoning
As we are in August, I am sure many of you either have, are planning on, or know someone going crabbing. Now I don’t know about you, but when it comes to cooking crabs, chicken, and shrimp I LOVE using Old Bay Seasoning, but we all know it’s fairly expensive, so I bring you a DIY (not quite a famous restaurant recipe) version of Old Bay Seasoning.

I’ve discussed ways you can save money by cooking at home, such as buying in bulk from wholesale stores. Now I want to make an amendment to that. Normally buying in bulk is helpful for when buying non-perishable products, meats/poultry, and other foods that have a long life span when either refrigerated or frozen. Two food groups do not fall under that requirement; fresh fruit and fresh vegetables. Now most of our cooking will be done with vegetables rather then fruit so this post will focus on saving money when it comes to buying vegetables.

Last summer, the one before my Senior year of College I was browsing through old bank statements for my debit card and I found something that was not only amusing, but quite depressing. What I found was that I was spending a ton of money eating out at my favorite restaurants each month. Now I did not really think about it immediately as I knew I was eating out often. I mean I was a college student living on campus away from home, if I was not eating out often I would be starving and would not have packed on that freshmen fifte….A LOT over the four years I lived on campus having to fend for myself when it came to meals.

Famous restaurant recipes can put your favorite restaurant foods on your plate and keep your cash in your wallet. We all love to go out to our favorite restaurants and enjoy our favorite meals, however at the end of the night this can be very costly.
